Experience with responsibility
Vocational education has been my field of work for more than 40 years. Since 2010, I have worked as an independent consultant and trainer, supporting national and international projects from my base in Germany.
My work combines vocational pedagogy with technical practice. I develop training programmes, curricula and assessment procedures, support vocational education and training staff, and contribute to national and international skills competitions. The water and wastewater sector is a particular area of expertise.
Vocational education creates impact when competence is applied in the workplace.
Professional engagement
Examination board leadership
Chair of an examination board for environmental engineering occupations. Responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of practice-oriented final examinations under real workplace conditions.
Development of national examination tasks
Member of a specialist committee responsible for nationally standardised written final examinations. The work includes drafting, technical review and quality assurance of examination tasks and supporting materials.
Teaching and consulting
Teaching and consulting in vocational education management, training evaluation, quality management and examination systems. Development and delivery of preparatory courses for advanced vocational education qualifications.
Skills competitions for vocational and university participants
Head of a specialist committee for national and international skills competitions for vocational and university participants in the water and wastewater sector. Responsible for competition design, task development, assessment procedures and the continued development of competition formats.
Continuing professional development
Member of a specialist committee responsible for developing and delivering continuing professional development programmes for managers of wastewater treatment facilities.
Trainer development
Senior trainer responsible for qualifying vocational education and training staff and for designing and delivering practice-oriented train-the-trainer programmes.
